A Season for Growth
November 7, 2016
On October 20th we announced our intent to merge with Health Care Credit Union. We are continuing with the merger application process while awaiting approval by federal and state regulators. With the addition of the eight Health Care Credit Union offices, Goldenwest members will soon have access to 12 branches in Salt Lake County and a total of 37 branches from Logan to St George.
I have spent quality time with the Board Members and Officers at Health Care Credit Union in the past few months. I have found these men and women to be true advocates of the Credit Union philosophy of ‘People Before Profits’. Health Care Credit Union is a safe and secure organization that truly cares about the financial well-being of their members. Goldenwest looks forward to serving the members of Health Care Credit Union with an expanded branch network, additional products and services, and the latest technology in online and mobile banking.
Last week we held a ribbon cutting for our new branch in Orem, located inside Ridley’s Family Market at 25 West Center Street. We were pleased to be welcomed by Orem City Mayor Richard Brunst, Miss Orem “Outstanding Teen” Glory Thomas, and other city officials. We are excited to better serve our members and advance our plans for growth by opening a branch in the vibrant city of Orem located in the heart of Utah County.
We currently have two full-service offices under construction: 1) a branch in Providence located at 84 South Highway 165 in Cache County, scheduled to open before the end of the year; and, 2) a branch in West Jordan located in The Highlands development next to Smith’s Marketplace at 5639 West Highlands Loop Road in Salt Lake County, on-track for completion during the first quarter of 2017. Both of these offices will include new “Personal Teller” technology similar to what we offer in the Welcome Center branch located on the Utah State University Campus in Logan.
Congratulations to our employee of the month, Matt Linsley. Matt works in our Facilities Department as the Maintenance Tech. He does a great job, behind-the-scenes, of keeping our offices in working order.
In addition to my blog, I like to share the latest news about our Credit Union via “tweets” on my Twitter handle @GoldenwestCUCEO. I look forward to receiving your comments at my email address president@gwcu.org.
