Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. From the beginning, our mission has been to serve our members and the community by pooling resources so that together we are stronger. This cooperative business model puts the focus on service, not maximizing profits. As stewards of your Credit Union, it is incumbent upon us to balance service and value to members with financial prudence and safety and soundness. I can report to you unhesitatingly that USU Credit Union is performing better than ever on both fronts.
Four years ago, we began the process of merging with Goldenwest Credit Union. We did this to secure our future as a credit union dedicated to helping our local community and members with the best financial tools and services. Today, I am still regularly asked: “How has the merger been?” My answer is always the same: “It has made all the difference!”
We recently analyzed our 3-year performance since the merger. It was exciting to see just how much growth has occurred since year-end 2013. We’ve had two straight record-setting years in new member growth and are on pace for a third this year! Assets and deposits continue to grow at a steady, but healthy pace. Lending in all areas (mortgage, commercial, and consumer) has increased. We continue to save more and more members money on their home and auto insurance policies. We’ve added new, member-focused branches in North Logan (Lee’s shopping complex), Providence, and the USU Campus (University Welcome Center).
But, growth for growth’s sake would be hollow. What this growth means is that we are empowering you with the financial resources and tools to make your life better.
Whether it is a member-focused branch location; mobile and online banking; insurance for your home and auto; your first auto loan; a home loan; money for your business; or fraud protection and Card Controls you manage to protect your Visa, we are working hard to provide you with the best and the latest.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you!
